When we practice tensing and slowly releasing our muscles, we are training ourselves to be able to release tension when we notice it. Sometimes, we have triggers – like a car cutting in front of our car – or our posture as we read through emails – that induce this muscle tension. In these situations, we can relax our muscles and notice how quickly our brain gets the message to calm down. Try it off the mat!!
Also – notice how you automatically know what 50% would feel like! There are ways we can ease up and not be at 100% all the time.
