Niyama: Isvara-Pranidhana

ISHVARA-PRANDIDHANA

This niyama is about facing our limitations, and accepting the role of others in our lives.  In this niyama, we are invited to examine our beliefs about and relationship with a higher power. We may also need to examine our relationship with the planet or with our family or community.  Through this, we can think about prayer, receptive meditation, or any NON-doing!

HeartOfYogatheyogasutrasThe niyamas are the second limb of yoga, found in a text called The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.  The translation that I used was from T.K.V. Desikachar in his book The Heart of Yoga.  Tons of great sources are available online  on the second limb of yoga
